That week I had to redraw a whole set of MEP plans because of a decimal point
It was last month on a big apartment job in Tacoma. I was rushing and put a pipe size as 1.5 inches instead of 15.0 in the specs. The shop drawings got made and everything. My boss caught it just before they went to the fabricator, but we still lost two days fixing it and re-coordinating with the other trades. Has anyone else had a tiny mistake blow up like that? How do you double-check your own work when you're tired?

Buddy of mine did almost the same thing on a hotel job in Portland. Put a 4 inch duct size where it should have been 14 inches and the whole supply layout got built wrong. He printed out every page of his specs and went through them with a red pen from then on because that one number cost them three days.
