Can we talk about cutting chain performance on soft material?

I ran my 12 inch cutter head on a sand and clay mix near Savannah last month. The manual says run it slow, but I cranked up the RPMs out of habit and it clogged up bad in under 20 minutes. Dropped back to the recommended speed and it cut through like butter. Anyone else fight the urge to push the throttle on loose stuff?

You ever have that moment where you're like "I know better" but your hand just cranks the throttle anyway? I've done the same thing on silty river sand, thought more speed would help clear it out faster and it just packed everything solid. Learning to trust the slow settings on soft ground made a world of difference for me too.

Tbh I did the exact same thing down in Florida on some sandy loam. Felt like a genius cranking it up for about five minutes before the whole drum was packed solid and I had to stop and chip it out. Now I just set it to the manual speed and walk away, it's way less frustrating.
