Had a stuck suction line on the old 8 inch cutterhead in Mobile Bay last week. Tried reversing the pump flow for 30 seconds instead of pulling the whole thing. It actually cleared the clog and saved us 2 hours of downtime.

That's a solid trick to keep in mind. How many times have you tried the reverse flow trick before it actually worked? Always heard it was a last-ditch thing for those big suction lines. Did the pressure spike at all when it was clogged, or did it just slowly lose prime?

Remember that time at the old Miller plant? We fought a clogged main for three days straight. Tried reverse flow twice with no luck, just got a bunch of gunk back at the pump. On the third try, it finally broke free and we got a pressure spike that nearly blew the gauge. Sometimes you just have to get stubborn with it.
