Last week's dredge run brought up more than just silt.
We were clearing out a silted-up river for a development project. Our equipment pulled up what seems to be native artifacts, like stone tools. The foreman told us to toss them back and not say anything to delay the job. I'm torn between following orders and reporting this. What would you do?

Wow, that's a tough spot. I had a similar thing on a temp job at a warehouse, we found what looked like old pottery shards when they were digging for a new foundation. The site boss just shrugged and said to keep quiet. I mean, it feels wrong to just bury history like that, you know? I ended up sending an anonymous tip to the local historical society.

You did the right thing by reporting it secretly. Stuff like that pottery could tell us a lot about how people lived back then. Bosses often just want to avoid delays, but hiding finds hurts everyone in the long run. Sending tips without your name is a safe way to make sure things get checked without risking your job. It's crazy how much history gets lost because no one wants to slow down a project.

Man that's wild. Wonder how many construction sites have secret archaeology finds that never get reported cause everyone's scared to speak up.
