Overheard a foreman say dredging was 'just scooping mud'... then he spent 2 hours untangling a clogged cutterhead

Guy had been on the job maybe 3 weeks. We were all waiting on a barge setup and he pipes up with that gem. Fast forward to lunchtime and his cutterhead was wrapped up in old netting and cable. Took a diver and half the shift to clear it. I just nodded at him when he walked past. Sometimes the best lesson is watching someone eat their own words.

A diver? Dude they had to bring in a diver for that? That's wild. I figured theyd just cut it loose or something from the surface. And half the shift, what was that like 4 or 5 hours just untangling crap from a spinning metal bucket? That foreman must have felt like a total idiot walking back to the office.

Wait, did anybody else think about how that diver was probably dealing with zero visibility down there? Like, he's in a murky harbor with a spinning bucket wrapped in some torn netting or cable, feeling around blind for hours. That's not just untangling, that's basically underwater assembly with your eyes closed. I bet his arms were killing him the next day.
