Pro tip: I doubted the new polymer cutterhead teeth until we pulled 30% more material in a single shift.
Our foreman insisted on trying them on the Willamette project, and the wear rate after a week convinced me. Has anyone else switched from steel and seen real gains?

Our crew tried polymer teeth on the old Johnson Creek site last year. They chipped on the third day hitting a buried concrete chunk, and we lost half a shift swapping them out. Steel would have just gouged and kept going. That 30% gain sounds great until you get a bad load of fill and the whole set is junk. I'm not sold on them for anything but perfect, clean material.

Sounds like a bad batch or maybe they were installed wrong. We've run polymers through some rough demo sites and only had issues when the operator got careless. That concrete story is more about bad luck than the teeth failing.
