Pro tip: talking to a harbor master made me rethink my dredging schedule
Had a chat with the harbor master in Brunswick last week and he told me I was kicking up too much silt during peak tide. Said it was messing with the marina's water clarity for weeks after. Anyone else ever get feedback from the harbor folks that changed how you time your runs?

Oh man, dredging and tides aren't really the same as road work though.

Trucking down to Savannah last month I stopped at a marina cafe and overheard a guy griping about the same thing with his neighbor's dredge boat. He said the silt cloud was hanging around for two weeks and the fish had moved out. That got me thinking about timing things too, not with water but with road work and rush hour traffic. Sometimes the folks who run the place know the little details we blow right past.
