Rant: I stopped fighting the current on a tricky bend in the Ohio River last month

Instead of pushing the cutter head straight, I let the flow set the angle and just managed the swing line. Saved us about 4 hours of fighting and a ton of fuel. Anyone have a different trick for working strong cross-currents?

Hold up, you saved four hours on a river bend? That's wild, I've heard guys lose whole shifts trying to muscle through those currents.

Let the flow set the angle" sounds like my life motto, just with less river and more procrastination.

My buddy Jake had a whole plan to clean his garage last Saturday. He moved one box, then sat on it to check his phone. Three hours later he was deep into a wiki hole about 90s cartoon voice actors. He said the flow took him from sorting old tools to learning which guy did the voice for Skeletor.
