Shoutout to the guy who told me about cutterhead wear limits on the Ellicott 370

I was running a job up near Port Arthur last month and an old timer pointed out that if you let the cutterhead teeth wear past 3/4 inch you lose like 15% digging efficiency. Measured mine and sure enough they were shot. Swapped em out and the production jump was immediate. Anyone else track their tooth wear that close or just run em til they break?

Wait, fifteen percent? That's a lot more than I would have guessed. I always figured you just run them until they start chattering or breaking.

Heard somewhere that 1/8 inch wear can drop efficiency 5% which tracks with what @lucas498 said.
