That $1500 pump rebuild kit that wasn't the problem at all

I spent $1500 on a full pump rebuild kit for my Ellicott 370 back in March thinking the wear plates were shot. Turned out it was just a clogged suction line from all that debris after a big storm on the Mississippi near New Albany. Took me three full days of labor to tear everything down and put it back together, only to find the real fix was a 30 minute rod-out job. The kit is sitting on my shop shelf now, maybe I'll use it next season if I run into real wear. Anyone else ever throw money at a part that wasn't actually the issue? What did you end up doing with the spare parts?

Three days of labor for a clogged line. Brutal.

Bet the real clog was in the homeowners wallet, not the pipe.

Heard a plumber say three days is actually fast for that kind of job.
