Found out my grandma's 1974 pressing method was basically silica gel
Was going through her old gardening notebook she kept in the attic of our house in Boise, and she had a recipe for drying roses using borax and cornmeal. Apparently people did that way before silica gel was common. I tried it on some pink petunias last weekend, worked better than the $12 bag I bought. Has anyone else dug up old family tricks that beat modern stuff?

Try it with lavender too, works way better than the store stuff. Old folks knew what they were doing with that borax trick. Grandma's notebook beats any modern hack I've found.
