TIL hanging my dried lavender bundles upside down with rubber bands instead of string keeps them from slipping

I lost a whole batch of lavender from last season when the twine loosened up in my humid basement, but swapping to thick rubber bands that grip the stems tight has kept every bundle intact for 3 months now - has anyone else found a weird fix that saved a bouquet?

Hmm, I gotta push back on that rubber band idea. I tried thick rubber bands once and they actually dried out and cracked within a month, leaving all my stems scattered on the floor. The twine might loosen a bit with humidity but at least it doesn't snap and ruin everything.

Honestly, same thing happened to me with the twine and humidity, I switched to those thick office rubber bands and they've been holding strong for months now without any cracking.
