Finally got my leaky head sink to drain properly after 3 years of dealing with it
I live on a 1986 Catalina 30 in San Diego. Last week I pulled apart the drain pipe under the sink for the fifth time and found a calcified chunk of toothpaste blocking the bend. Has anyone else found random junk in their boat plumbing that made zero sense?

Calcified chunk of toothpaste" is a new one for me. On my boat I found a dried up sea lion whisker jammed in the bilge pump hose once. Still have no idea how it got there.

A sea lion whisker? That's got to be one of the strangest things I've heard of finding in a boat, @uma_wilson79. I pulled a dried out piece of bubblegum out of a drain on a customer's houseboat once, but that's nowhere near as wild as a whisker. How does something that big even get down in there? I'd have to assume a sea lion stuck its nose somewhere it didn't belong, but that still doesn't explain how it ended up in the bilge pump hose. That's a head-scratcher for sure.
