Finally got the hang of inside corners after that job at the old hospital
I was working a renovation at that rundown hospital on Market Street, the one with all the weird angled walls. There was this one room with about 20 inside corners, and I kept getting mud buildup no matter what I did. Then this guy Jim from the plumbing crew walked by and said you gotta load the knife lighter and let the paper do the work. I tried it on the next corner and it came out way cleaner. Now I barely use any mud on the crease and I just pull the paper tight. It cut my time on those corners by maybe 30 percent. Has anyone else run into an old-timer who gave you a tip that just clicked?

Yeah, same thing happened to me with a drywaller named Pete in 2017.

Man, I don't know if I'd get that worked up over it. I mean, yeah it's annoying when a drywaller flakes out, but it's not like they stole your truck or something. I've had guys show up late or just not show up at all but I usually find someone else within a week. Maybe I'm just lucky, but it never felt worth getting all riled up over. You'd think Pete was running some kind of scam ring the way people talk about him.
