I finally had to replace a ceiling that took me 3 four-hour trips to finish

Started a simple patch job on a dining room ceiling in a 1920s house. Ended up fighting brittle plaster and weird joist spacing for 12 hours total. How long do yall give a small job before you call it a loss?

Did you at least find some cool old stuff in the ceiling while you were up there? That twelve hour mark is brutal, but honestly, for a 1920s house with plaster, I usually just assume anything small is gonna turn into a two day project before I even start.

@troyp37, same here. I just plan for two days and pray it's less.
