Just realized I've been taping inside corners totally backwards for 8 years

Saw a guy across the hall bury his knife into the corner crease first instead of feathering out, and suddenly all my wrinkled tapes made sense. Anybody else have that moment where you watch someone do one move and it all clicks?

What was it about the crease-first method that made your tapes suddenly lay flat?

The crease-first method saved my tapes because I realized I'd been fighting the paper instead of working with it. Turns out my old way was like trying to fold a stubborn map in a moving car. Now I just look less like I'm wrestling a ghost every time I pack a box.
