Pro tip: That $40 drywall lift attachment saved my back today

I always thought those panel carriers that clip onto a standard lift were a waste of money. Then last week I had a 14-foot ceiling job with 5/8 board and my helper called in sick. Bought the Lift-A-Panel attachment for $43 at the supply house. Kept me from wrestling boards overhead alone. Has anyone else used one of these on solo jobs?

...and honestly I was the same way until I was doing a garage alone with 12 foot boards and no helper in sight. Ended up using a 2x4 and some clamps to jury rig something that almost worked but not really. That Lift-A-Panel thing sounds like it would've saved me a lot of cussing that day. I might actually pick one up now since I do a lot of solo work, even if my buddy keeps telling me I'm just wasting more money on fancy gadgets.

That "jury rigged" setup with a 2x4? Yeah, been there. Clamps and a prayer. I'd just say spring for the tool - your back will thank you, and the cussing budget stays low.
