TIL the average new house uses over 8,000 square feet of drywall

Honestly, saw that stat in a trade magazine at the supply yard and it blew my mind. Anyone else surprised by how much material goes into a standard build these days?

Right? That number is actually insane. Helped my buddy finish his basement last year and we went through so many sheets it felt endless. Makes you realize how much stuff is hidden behind the paint in every single room. Modern houses just have so many walls and ceilings to cover. Kinda wild when you stop and think about it.

That's a crazy amount of material just for the walls.
