TIL those corner bead crimpers actually work
I always figured they were just a gimmick, but my boss made me use one on a job in Springfield last week and it cut my time on that bathroom ceiling by almost an hour. Anyone have a preferred brand they stick with?

Wait, corner bead crimpers? You mean a crimper for metal bead, right? Because those plastic beads with the rip strip don't get crimped, you just cut them. The metal ones are the game changer.

Exactly, @harper_gibson2. The metal bead crimper is the only way to go. I fought with those flimsy plastic ones for years, always getting a stupid little bulge no matter how careful I was. Switched to crimping the metal corner bead last year and my corners are actually sharp now.

@harper_gibson2 I read somewhere that the metal ones actually hold up better in humid climates too. Makes sense since plastic can warp. Been happy with my switch to metal so far.
