Always thought torque screwdrivers were overkill for panel work until I snapped a lug on a 200A disconnect last Tuesday.

Bought a Klein torque screwdriver after that $150 mistake and now I kick myself for not getting one years ago - has anyone else had a similar wake-up call on a simple job?

Snapped a lug" sounds more like user error than needing a torque wrench.

@noah_barnes "user error" sure, tell that to my wallet. I mean yeah, maybe I did crank a little too hard but that's exactly the point. Torque screwdrivers take the guessing out of it so you don't have to find out the hard way that your wrist can't tell the difference between tight and "oops there goes the lug." I'd rather spend $50 on a tool than another $150 on parts and the trip to the supply house.

Pretty much this lol. I snapped a bolt on a suspension arm once cause I thought I knew what "tight enough" felt like. Cost me way more time and annoyance than just grabbing the torque screwdriver in the first place.
