PSA: The old way of splicing with wire nuts in tight boxes is a total headache compared to wagos.

Started using Wago connectors about 6 months ago after fighting with a jam-packed ceiling box on a Saturday job, and I honestly can't believe I spent 12 years twisting wires like a caveman for no good reason has anyone else switched and never looked back?

Started using them after a service call where the homeowner had put all the neutrals under one wire nut in a box the size of my fist. Had to cut and re-strip half of them because the copper was chewed up from the twisting. Wagons woulda saved me 45 minutes of swearing. Honestly the real hidden win is how easy they make troubleshooting. Pop a wire out to test a circuit, pop it back in, no re-twisting or wondering if the connection is still good.

Who's got time for that kind of swearing when you could just... not...? I've seen those nightmare boxes where it's like someone played Jenga with the wires, and the wagos just make you feel like you cheated the system somehow. Kinda wish I'd had them back when I was still learning to strip wires without mangling them...

Forty five minutes of swearing is being generous, I think I'd have needed a full hour and a therapy session after that mess. Pop a wire out for testing and pop it back in without fighting with pliers? That's the kind of convenience that makes you feel like you're getting away with something illegal. I've definitely stood in front of a panel before and just stared at a wire nut nest, wondering if the guy who did it was trying to beat some kind of record. Did you at least get to bill the homeowner extra for the chaos you had to untangle?
