Sparky who refused to use Wagos until a service call in Phoenix changed my mind
I was always a wire nut guy. Been doing this for 12 years and figured Wagos were just for beginners who couldn't twist a solid joint. Then last summer I got called to a house in Phoenix where the attic was hitting 130 degrees and I had to replace a faulty outlet in a junction box behind insulation. Fumbling with wire nuts while sweat was dripping in my eyes took me 20 minutes for what should have been a 5 minute swap. Next day I bought a pack of Wago 221s and honestly I won't go back. Has anyone else had a specific job that made them switch tools they swore by?

Man, 130 degrees in an attic? That's insane. I would have quit on the spot and told them to call someone else. Twenty minutes for a swap in those conditions sounds like a win just for not passing out up there.

For real, that "win for not passing out" part hits hard. I've been in attics where you can literally feel the shingles cooking through the decking. Twenty minutes might sound fast, but when your lungs are burning and sweat is pooling in your boots, every second feels like an hour. Honestly, if you're not chugging a gallon of water beforehand and taking breaks every five minutes in those temps, you're asking for trouble.
