A client told me my soldering looked 'cold and lumpy' on a Nintendo Switch board. I switched to a 700-degree tip and thinner flux.

Actually, a lower temp with more flux control usually gets a cleaner joint on that thin Switch board.

Yeah that lower temp trick saved me a few boards.

You know, I always thought hotter was better for a clean joint. But seeing that result with a lower temp and good flux really changed my mind.
