My buddy Greg spent years trying to get his old Amiga working with a cheap soldering iron from a flea market. He finally took it to a repair shop in Astoria and the guy spent 20 minutes showing him how to use flux and a proper tip. Greg said he felt like an idiot afterward but at least his computer works now.

Wait, you're telling me he was using a flea market soldering iron with no flux on an Amiga? @barnes.brian, that's wild - no wonder he was stuck for years.
