Watch out for counterfeit capacitors on Amazon - caught 3 bad batches last week

I was restocking my shop and ordered 50 100uF caps from a seller with 4.5 stars. Got them in and three of them were reading at like 30uF on my meter. I dug into the reviews more carefully and found a guy who posted actual ESR test results showing failure rates around 25 percent. This was on a bulk listing for Nichicon clones. I thought I was saving about 15 bucks over my usual Mouser order but now I am out the money and the time. Has anyone else had luck calling Amazon out on this or do you just eat the loss?

Ugh that sucks man, I feel your pain on this one. I got burned on some fake Panasonic caps last year and it's just such a waste of time and money trying to chase down the real stuff on there.

... I mean I get being annoyed @robin_foster1 but a few dud caps out of a bulk order doesn't sound like the end of the world to me. You're still talking about a savings over Mouser and for hobby stuff that 15 bucks adds up over time. Maybe just test them before you build and toss the bad ones.
