Yeah, trusting your eyes alone will mess you up every time. Learned that the hard way. A good laser level really does make a huge difference.

Remember that time I tried to hang shelves in my hallway? Looked perfect until I stepped back and saw the whole thing sloping downhill like a ski jump. My buddy just laughed and handed me his laser level. Turns out the floor wasn't level and the wall had a slight bow. Fixed it in five minutes. Now I won't even put up a picture frame without double checking. That little tool saves so much headache.
