Cable management hack I wish I knew sooner
Spent 5 years fighting tangled hoistway cables. Finally figured out you can use those cheap zip tie mounts with adhesive backing to route them clean. Anyone else waste hours on this before?

Don't bother with those sticky mounts. They'll fall off after a few months when the adhesive dries out, especially in a warm server room or near any heat. I had a whole cable run drop because one let go and pulled the rest down with it. Screw-in clamps or proper cable trays are the only way to go if you want it to last. Those adhesive mounts are fine for a temporary setup or home desk cable management, but for anything permanent you're just setting yourself up for a headache later.

Wait, the whole thing just came crashing down because ONE mount gave out? That's wild, I would have lost it if I walked into the server room and saw cables all over the floor like that.

The cheap ones work fine if you install them right on clean surfaces.
