Reminds me of when my buddy tried to "improve" his bike lock.

Ask him what the actual "improvement" was. Did he try to add a second lock wrong or mess with the mechanism? Ive seen guys put a cheap cable lock on an already weak frame lock and call it an upgrade. That just gives a thief two different ways to crack it open instead of one.
