Question about a stuck hoistway door on a 90s Otis

After three frustrating hours of checking rollers and guides, I found a single, bent 1/4-20 mounting bolt on the door operator carriage that was causing a bind, and replacing it fixed the intermittent fault completely.

A bent mounting bolt, really?

Yeah, a bent mounting bolt... sounds small but it throws everything off. I've seen it cause weird vibrations that feel like a bigger problem. You gotta replace it, a new bolt is cheap but trying to straighten the old one never works right. The hard part is sometimes getting to it if things are rusted up.

Totally agree about the vibrations, had that exact thing happen on my old truck's exhaust bracket. Soaked the whole area in penetrating oil for like two days before I even touched a wrench. Even then, I had to use a six-point socket and a breaker bar, and it still felt like it was going to snap. Getting the new bolt in was easy, it was just that fight to get the old one out without stripping anything.
