Had a client tell me my eyebrow wax was 'too perfect' and it messed with my head

This lady comes in last Tuesday, sits down, and after I finish her brows she says they look like I used a stencil. She wanted them softer and more natural. So I changed my whole technique, now I leave a little more fuzz and use scissors for texture instead of tweezing everything clean. Been getting way more compliments since then actually. Anybody else ever get feedback that made you totally switch up your method?

I mean, the whole "too perfect" thing is kinda wild if you think about it. Maybe it's just me but I wonder if she was actually jealous or something. Like, your work was so good it made her feel insecure about her natural shape, so she had to knock it down a peg. I've had clients do this with haircuts before - they say it's "too neat" when really they just didn't expect to look that polished. Not saying you should ignore feedback, but sometimes it says more about them than your skill.

Used to think people were just being nice when they said stuff like that, but this actually makes a lot of sense... never thought about it that way before.
