Just realized I've been selling LED masks wrong for 2 years
Had a chat last week with a client named Rachel who bought a $400 LED mask from me 6 months ago. She told me she stopped using it because she thought it wasn't working. Turns out she was using it for 2 minutes instead of the recommended 10 because nobody ever explained the timing to her clearly. That made me rethink how I talk about at-home devices during consults. Now I ask each client to show me how they'd use it before they leave. I also started timing them with my phone to make sure they understand the full routine. Has anyone else had clients give up on pricey tools just because of bad instructions?

Honestly I've seen this so many times it hurts. A client bought a red light panel from me last year and was just holding it up to their face for 30 seconds while watching TV. I had to literally sit them down and walk through the whole timer setup on their phone. Now I tell everyone to set an alarm right then and there before they leave the shop. It sounds dumb but most people just don't realize these things need actual time commitment to work.

and yeah @tyler614 you're 100% right about that. i had a customer come back after two months complaining the panel didn't work, turns out they were using it 2 feet from their face for like a minute at a time while scrolling tiktok. i literally had to pull up a study on my phone and show them the dose response curve before they got it. setting the alarm before they leave the shop is the only way to go, i do the same thing now. people just assume these things work like a magic wand or something.
