Showerthought: I used to think LED face masks were total gimmicks and a waste of money

After my coworker loaned me her Dr. Dennis Gross mask for 3 weeks to help with some post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from a bad breakout, I actually saw a noticeable difference in my skin tone evenness by week two and now I'm saving up for one, has anyone else had a similar flip on a tool they were dead set against?

3 weeks is actually pretty solid time to test something like that. Did you use it every single day or just a few times a week? I ask because my friend who's a total red light convert says she saw results faster when she did it daily for the first month versus spacing it out. That hyperpigmentation fading in two weeks sounds really promising for a specific issue, but I wonder if the mask she loaned you has like blue light too or just red.

My buddy actually tried one of those masks and he swore by using it every night for like two weeks straight before he saw anything, but then he got a sunburn from forgetting to put sunscreen on after using it in the morning so that set him back. I mean @ruby_sanchez45 your friend might be onto something with the daily thing but idk, it depends on your skin type too. I just use a basic red light panel now because I don't trust those masks to not trap heat and cause breakouts, you know? That hyperpigmentation fading in two weeks sounds legit though, especially if she's consistent with it.
