Watched a client try to use micellar water like a toner yesterday

I mean, she was slapping it on her face with a cotton round and then immediately moving to the next step. At my station in Portland, I had to stop her and explain it's a cleanser, you gotta rinse it off or at least wipe until the pad is clean. Does anyone else see people mixing up basic steps like this or is it just my clients?

Had a friend who did the same thing with hair oil. Thought it was leave-in conditioner. Disaster.

That whole 'slapping it on with a cotton round' thing got me. I did almost the exact same thing when I first tried micellar water. Thought it was a fancy toner. Ended up with sticky face and wondered why my skin felt weird. God, I felt so dumb when a friend finally told me. Makes me feel better knowing I wasn't the only confused one out there.
