Why does nobody talk about how bad disposable face wipes are for skin?

I was at a client's house in Portland last month doing a facial, and she pulled out a pack of wipes to remove her makeup before I started. I told her to stop and use a proper cleanser instead, and she looked at me like I had three heads. Within 20 minutes of using my gentle micellar water and cotton rounds, her face was less red and she admitted the wipes always left her feeling tight. Has anyone else had to talk a client out of using those wipes?

Guilty as charged. Used those things for years thinking I was being smart. My face looked like a tomato and I blamed everything except the wipes.

Totally agree with you on this one. @parker_bailey, I feel your pain, that tight feeling after wipes is a huge red flag. The thing is, most face wipes don't actually dissolve makeup or dirt properly, they just scrub and smear it around. They also rely on harsh preservatives and alcohol to stay fresh without drying out, which really strips your skin's natural barrier. Even so-called "gentle" wipes can leave behind a residue that clogs pores over time. A good micellar water plus a soft cloth is just as fast and way kinder to your skin, I promise.
