My entire ink bottle spilled on a half-finished map last night

I was finishing the border for the Kingdom of Veridia, a big piece for my book, when my elbow knocked over the open bottle of Higgins Black Magic ink. It went right across the mountains I spent three hours drawing. I had to quickly blot it with paper towels, which smeared the lines even more. Now I have a big dark stain where the Silverpeak range should be. Has anyone saved a map after something like this, or is it time to start over on fresh paper?

Oh man, "time to start over on fresh paper" is the WORST idea. That stain IS the Silverpeak range now, a cursed black mountain range. Make it part of the story, like a place where magic went wrong. Starting over just loses all that happy accident potential. I would lean into the stain and redraw the other mountains to match its wild shape.

Totally agree about happy accidents shaping the art. Once spilled coffee on a sketch and it became a killer shadow for a monster's cave. The best stuff often comes from NOT starting over. You just gotta roll with the weirdness.
