My ink wash experiment bled through three layers of paper on Sunday
I was trying this new technique I saw on a stream where you lay down a light wash first then build up darker areas. The problem is my paper was just standard 90 lb and not meant for wet media at all. The wash seeped through to my desk, ruined the back of two other maps I had sitting under it, and the whole thing turned into a muddy mess. I had to scrap the project and start over on some proper 140 lb cold press I picked up. Has anyone else messed up a map by using the wrong paper type?

Used to think paper didn't matter, but that wash proved me dead wrong.

Cheap paper makes a wash look like a muddy mess every time.
