My Wonderdraft file corrupted halfway through a city map I worked on for 3 weeks

I was drawing the docks district of my fantasy port city last Tuesday night around 2 AM and the program just froze. Then it crashed and when I opened it back up the file said it was corrupted. I had auto-save on but it only had a version from day one saved. Lost all those hours of detail work on the warehouses and ship models. Has anyone else had Wonderdraft files just give up on them like this?

Does Wonderdraft not have multiple backup files like other map programs do? I feel your pain though, I had a similar thing happen with an Inkarnate city map I spent two weekends on, the whole harbor area just poofed into static one night. Ended up having to rebuild every pier and tavern from memory, which was basically guesswork since I didn't take screenshots. These programs really need better crash recovery for big projects.

Did you actually have any backup versions saved or just the one auto-save file though? Because if you didn't manually make copies or save multiple versions yourself, that's really on you not the software. I've been using Wonderdraft for about a year now and I make it a habit to save a new copy every time I finish a big section, like after finishing my main market square I had like 14 versions saved in a folder. Plus the auto-save feature is clear about only keeping one backup from the start, that's not a glitch that's just how it works. You sunk 3 weeks into a map without hitting Control+S and making a duplicate file once in a while?
