Thought digital map making was cheating till I tried it

I spent years drawing maps by hand with pencils and ink, thought digital was for people who couldn't draw. Then I got a Wacom tablet from a buddy last Christmas and decided to try it out on a map for my D&D campaign. Took me about 2 weeks to get comfortable with the pressure sensitivity and layers. But once I figured out how to add shading and rivers without messing up the whole page, I was hooked. It's not easier really, just different. Now I do a mix of hand drawn outlines and digital coloring. Has anyone else switched methods and felt like a traitor at first?

Did you find yourself going back to fix old hand drawn mistakes once you got the hang of the digital stuff?

You know, I actually feel the opposite? Once I got comfortable with digital, I stopped worrying so much about those old hand drawn pieces. I figured they were just part of the learning curve, and going back to fix them felt like wasting time I could spend on new stuff. It's like, those mistakes taught me something, you know? I'd rather just move forward and make better work now than try to polish up something from when I didn't know what I was doing.
