Almost had a bad wreck at the Spokane rodeo grounds last month
I was shoeing a big quarter horse in the warm-up pen when he suddenly jerked his foot back. The hoof knife slipped and cut deep into my palm, right through my glove. It happened because the ground was uneven and I didn't have my own solid block to set the foot on. Now I carry a portable stand in my truck for any job away from my shop. Anyone else had to change their setup after an injury on unstable ground?

Learned that lesson the hard way too, now I never work without my own tripod stand.

My buddy sliced his thumb open on a gravel driveway last year.

Sliced his thumb open on a gravel driveway" - that's oddly specific, were they like dragging their hand across it or did he fall onto it? Because I'm trying to picture how a driveway does that kind of damage to a thumb.
