Appreciation post: Finally got a clean pull on a tricky shoe after six tries
Working on a draft horse with a really underrun heel, and I just couldn't get the fit right for the life of me. On the sixth attempt, the shoe seated perfectly with no daylight, and the owner said it was the best his horse had walked in months. What's your go-to trick for dealing with a persistent underrun heel?

Whoa wait, six tries? That's it? I had a mare with heels so underrun I thought I was gonna lose my mind. I think I was on attempt number twelve before I finally gave up and had to grind a custom wedge pad on the spot. You're telling me you got it on the sixth try and the owner said it was the best walk in months? Man, I woulda bought that horse a beer if I could. I swear some of these horses have feet that are just pure spite.
