Vent: My hoof knife snapped on a tough quarter crack yesterday

It was a 10-year-old Mustad blade that finally gave out mid-cut. Had to finish the job with my nippers, which was a real pain. Anyone have a favorite heavy-duty brand that can take a beating?

So your trusty Mustad finally decided to retire in the middle of a job, huh? Ten years is a good run, but what a way to go out. Finishing with nippers sounds like the kind of fun you only have once. Have you looked at the Diamond blades? They're pretty much the only thing I'll use now after my last knife gave up on life.

Man that stinks big time! Nothing worse than gear dying mid-use, glad you at least had the nippers to get through it though.
