I finally hit 50 sketches in my design notebook this week
It sounds small, but it felt like a real win because I started the book just after New Year's and was only doing one or two a month. The last ten were all for a single project, a convertible jacket-dress idea I'm working on. Seeing that number made me realize I'm actually building a real collection of ideas instead of just random drawings. How do you guys track your progress on a big design project?

You said it felt like a real win, but is 50 sketches in a design notebook that serious? It sounds like you're just counting drawings instead of making finished things. Maybe focus less on the number and more on if any of those ideas are actually good.

Honestly, you're kinda right about just counting stuff being pointless. But hitting 50 sketches means you showed up and put in the work, which is the hardest part for most people. It's not about the number itself, it's about building the habit of getting ideas out where you can see them. Tbh, most of those sketches will be trash, but a few might have something you can actually use later. The real win is getting to the point where you can sort through them and find the good ones.
