My grocery bag tear led to a weird textile experiment
I was carrying groceries home when a bag ripped, spilling lentils all over my white pants. The pattern they made gave me the idea for a speckled fabric print. I tried to recreate it with dye and ended up with a polka-dot mess instead. Your mileage may vary, but take this with a grain of salt, it was a funny fail. Still, it got me thinking about using food items for texture inspiration.

Skip the food inspiration ideas, they always turn into a messy fail. Your lentil accident shows it's not worth the hassle. Just buy the fabric print you want instead.

But that lentil mess could be a one-of-a-kind print.

Oh come on, the mess is half the fun! My best tie-dye came from a spaghetti sauce spill. You never know until you try it.
