My sister said 'clothes are just armor for the grocery store' and I can't stop thinking about it.
She said it last Tuesday while we were picking out a jacket, and now I'm sketching designs focused on that feeling of quiet confidence for everyday errands, like a structured linen blazer with hidden pockets for your phone and keys.

She's onto something. You put on the right jacket and you're ready for the world. I see it at school drop-off. People in their soft pants versus people in their real pants. Different kinds of armor for the same battle. Your sketch sounds like the good stuff, the kind that makes you feel put together without trying too hard.

So which side are you on at drop-off, soft pants or real pants? I'm fully in the real pants camp because if I put on sweatpants, my brain checks out for the day. It feels less like armor and more like a white flag. Does that outfit choice actually change how you handle the rest of your morning?

Fight the urge to reach for the soft pants. Real pants every time for me too. Jeans and a leather jacket. Boom. Ready for anything the parking lot throws at me.
