Spent $300 on a digital fabric cutter and it's been a total waste
I bought it thinking it would speed up my pattern making, but the software is a nightmare and it jams on anything thicker than basic cotton. It's been sitting in my studio for six months gathering dust. Honestly, I should have just stuck with my rotary cutter and mat. Has anyone actually made one of these things work for small batch design?

My Juki sits in the corner judging me every time I walk past it. Tried to cut some faux leather once and it sounded like a dying blender, never again.

Yeah, those things are finicky. Had a friend who swore by hers, but she only used it for quilting cotton. Anything with texture or stretch was a no-go. She ended up selling it and just outsourcing her cutting when she had a big order. For small batches, the old tools are still faster once you factor in the setup time.

See this all the time with kitchen gadgets too. People buy a fancy machine that promises to save time, but the hassle makes the old way faster.
