Three hours to adjust a single dart on a bodice block

I was working on a dress pattern yesterday and the bust dart was sitting a full inch too low. I thought it would be a quick pin and re-draw, but I kept tweaking the angle and length and it still looked wrong. It took me three whole hours just to get that one dart sitting right on the muslin. Has anyone else spent way too long on a single fit adjustment that should have been simple?

Wait, did you at least have a good podcast on in the background? Three hours for one dart sounds about right honestly, I once spent a whole evening fighting with a sleeve cap and it turned out I just had the iron set wrong the whole time.

That bust dart issue, was it the front or the back piece? Makes a difference in how you approach the pivot point.

Man, three hours is nothing for a dart that's being difficult. I've definitely had days where I kept adjusting and re-pinning until my fabric was basically swiss cheese. It's wild how something that seems so simple on paper can turn into this whole geometry puzzle when you're actually working with the fabric. Honestly, sometimes you just gotta walk away and come back the next day with fresh eyes.
