Met a guy at the lumber yard who said he never uses a level on his posts

He told me he just eyeballs them and trusts the string line, said he's been doing it for 20 years. Happened last Tuesday at the yard on 5th Street. Has anyone else run into this, or is he just asking for callbacks?

You never use a level? That's wild. I saw a deck once where the guy did that. The whole railing slanted down like a slide. They had to pull six posts after the pour. The homeowner was not happy.

My old foreman did that. We spent a week fixing a fence line that leaned after the concrete set. Always check your posts.

Man, a whole week on one fence line? That's brutal. I can just picture the concrete trucks showing up and the sinking feeling when you saw the lean. Did you have to chip it all out or just pull them?
