My old crock cracked during a sauerkraut ferment last month

Heard a pop in the pantry, found a hairline split down the side. Had to move everything into a food grade bucket I had for a job. Anyone know a good place to find a solid stoneware replacement?

Oh man, that's the worst sound! Total heartbreaker. Honestly, check out estate sales or local thrift stores, you can find some amazing old stoneware that's already stood the test of time. New stuff can be hit or miss with quality. Good luck with the hunt, hope your kraut turned out okay in the bucket!

Borrow a pickup and check a few estate sales on a Saturday morning. @beth_baker69 is right about that - I found my best crock at a farm auction for ten bucks, still going strong after 15 years.
