I loaded my film backwards for an entire month

I kept getting blank rolls back from the lab in Denver and thought my camera was broken. The guy at the photo shop finally asked to watch me load a roll and just started laughing. Has anyone else made a mistake that obvious when they were starting out?

Honestly think that sharpie trick is overkill. Loading film is supposed to be part of the fun, messing it up is how you learn.

...and my buddy did even worse honestly. He spent like two weeks taking photos at his sister's wedding with the lens cap on. The whole time he's thinking he's this big shot with his fancy new SLR, framing every shot all careful-like. It wasn't until his dad asked him why the viewfinder was so dark that he even realized. He brought the film to the lab, and they were just like "uh, there's nothing here." He still gets roasted about it at family dinners, ten years later. I mean, at least you were actually getting images, even if they were blank. He paid for a whole roll of pure black nothing.

Been there with the film loading panic. What finally helped was drawing a little arrow on the camera body with a sharpie. It's a dumb trick, but it saved me from that exact same walk of shame.
