Found a stack of dead Game Boys at a garage sale for $5 each

Pulled 4 of them apart and 3 just needed the power switch cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, the fourth had a blown fuse I swapped for 50 cents. Has anyone else had good luck reviving old handhelds with just basic contact cleaner?

How many of those were the DMG models with the vertical line issues? I passed on a $10 bundle because I didn't want to deal with soldering new ribbon cables.

Nah, the vertical line fix is way easier than soldering, just needs a soldering iron for heat.
